Well Christmas 2011 is officially over! I hope everyone had a wonderful festive season, Mine was spent celebrating with family! I have already started thinking bout what the new year holds, this is the time that we normally sit back and reflect on the last year, and think bout all the exciting things that 2012 holds! :) I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year! :)

Well, its officially less than 5 months till we get married. I cant believe how quickly the time has gone, it seems like just yesterday we got engaged! Last week Sunday, we had our long-awaited engagment shoot. We had so much fun doing this shoot and i absolutely loved the theme! :)....here is just a sneak preview.....:)

" Hitched "

This past weekend a friend of mine got hitched! :) We spent the friday night at a guest house next to the venue Vredenheim! What a great evening it was,We went for dinner at the Restaurant there! then we got back to the guest house and just chilled out, and were talking nonsense..We Sat and watched bridal plasty and Extreme Makeovers-Home Edition we spent the entire evening laughing and almost crying! ( haha)..I did her make up for her, so we practiced that the night before too! :)...

On Saturday we woke up very early to be at a hair appointment in Stellenbosh!Diana and Dewald (Friend and my fiance)joined us. Then after getting our hair done we went back to the guesthouse to beautify ourselves even more! What fun!! :)Later we were joined by other friends of ours!
At 3:30pm we started getting dressed up!And we were just intime to walk down the isle at 4:30pm! She made an absoloutly breathtaking bride!I was so honoured to be apart of her special day!

After the cermemony,we had photo's taken, then were taken to a wonderful reception in the main hall!I was very nervous as i was asked to say a speech!:) im not a fan of speaking in public, but luckily for me it went off without a hitch!...Then other speeches were made, by the best man, and bride and groom! :)..atleast i wasnt alone!...Then we all sat and were served starters, Starters was Salmon ( Which i have to admit was not my favourite) but i loved the garlic bread :)..then Main was a buffet! That went down very well, as a buffet normally does..always a great choice for a wedding!..Then Came the cutting of the cake and dessert, Which was amazing, so amazing and rich i struggled to finish it, It was a really Chocolaty rich pudding! but Ever So DELIOUS!! Then we danced the rest of the night away! And after feeling very satisfied, made the long trek back to cape town! All in all, it was a wonderful evening and weekend!

So happy for my friends Chantall and Adam, u guys are great! x Wishing u guys many, many years of happiness!!

This Weekend is our long awaited engagement party! I am so excited, because for once i have no idea what is going to happen on the night! ( and i am normally the first to know everything) , i do know the theme for the evening! is an " all u need is love" cocktail affair, but that's about it! : D i decided that for the first time i wanted to be totally surprised when i walked into the room, because in the past i have always ruined every surprise, but this time is going to be different.! CANT WAIT!! :)

I know i haven't written a post for about a week now, life seems to catch up with you! Im back at school this week, and what a week it has been! So glad its The weekend.! Tonight we will be going to canal walk! hoping to go watch The movie "Chalet Girl"..( Ed Westwick), for those of you who don't know Him! Chuck in Gossip Girl! :P and satisfy my new craving for subway! : D....

Weekend Away!

This time tomorrow we will be in the Citrusdal. I absolutly love going there, not only because Its where dewald grew up, but because it is really pretty, and peaceful, and nice if u looking for a little quiet getaway every now and then. On the way there we always stop at The One Stop in Swartland, and have a wimpy breakfast, one of the highlights of the trip for me! but also it is a time for Dewald and I to reconnect as a couple, without having to be around the hustle and bustle of living in a busy city........

It is a wonderful place to host your ultimate fantasy wedding..in the heart of the stellenbosh winelands,with its tall pine trees, beautiful surroundings, and mouth-watering cusine!

" Something Borrowed "

Last night, a group of us went to see the movie "Something Borrowed"..... I was rather keen to see this movie, as it is significant to my life at the moment..getting married and all! And..not to mention that i am a huge fan of Kate Hudson! I found the movie to be rather interesting..and thought provoking! but at the same time..fun and humorous!....Towards the end of the movie...i figured out why the title of the movie had its name...and well lets just hope i don't have friends like that! hehe :P...but all in all~ a great film to see with your loved one and maybe a friend or two! :)

Too Cool for school!

Ok, well we are here again, Monday! For some its a time to reflect on the week ahead, for others, its just " Blue " ...To be honest, i dont really enjoy getting up on a Monday morning to head to work. Anyway, So i arrived at work this morning, expecting loads of kids to come rushing in, but thankfully that was not the case...It was rather a pleasant day... While working with kids, u tend to expect all hell to break lose at some point..but to my surprise, it was rather a calm day! The most we had all day..was putting a child in time- out twice! Does time-out really work?! Sometimes i wonder! Most parents say that Giving your child a light tap on the bottom is just not on!! Rather Give him/her a time-out! Well, that is a hard question, coz where do we draw the line?? .I think it is important to let the child know who is boss, and if the one method is not working, or they start seeing it as a game, then it really isn't that effective anymore and maybe u should try a new approach. When i was young and i did something wrong there was no such thing as time out, i was given a hiding, simple as that! And it taught me very quickly that there was painful consequences to my misbehavior, and made me think the next time i decided to do something naughty! But As u know, i work in a school environment and hitting a child in a situation like that is not considered the right thing to do, So having other diciplines in place, is very important, Such as time-out, Talking to the the child, making he/she understand what they did was wrong, and if there was more than one child involved, make sure the child can apologise and say they are sorry, and maybe hug the person who was hurt. But at the end of the day, As long as there is a lesson to be learnt, however u choose to handle the situation is enitirely up to you!

Great Company, Great Food!

Last Night, I went to my cousin Marc's 21st, When i think of my baby cousins 21st it really makes me feel a bit old, Anyway. We all went to this restaurant In Stellenbosh Called La Pinita.WOW! What an amazing view,Tucked Away Under tall trees, in the heart of Stellenbosh, u cud see the wonderful view of the stellenbosh mountains and vinyards...And that wasnt all..We all sat down to a wonderful meal, We Had a choice of Starter, Maincourse and Dessert. When it came to choosing what we wanted to eat, the menu was very vast, but me being not so much the adventurous type went for what i know best..The Fillet of Beef, With a Perinaise sauce, with black mushrooms, and French Fries on the Side, and for dessert, I decided to go for the Creme Brulee! Well, i must say, i was blown away but the excellent quality and taste, and the portions Where not half bad either! It was by far one the best meals i have had a long time! What a wonderful Evening Had by all, And will definatly be making a turn there again in near Future! x
